Hi! I’m Missy Francis. I’ve been a photographer for many years, starting out as an amatuer, then working a few seasons with LifeTouch National School Studios as a school portrait photographer. I started my photography business in 2011; I love people and I love portraiture.
I am a mother of five amazing kids and I love spending time with them. And I guess this artsy thing runs in the family, because my oldest son, Stephen, has now joined my photography team. When it comes to photography, my family is my inspiration. Preserving family memories is such a precious thing. Especially when I look back on my parents and how few photos I have of them… I will never take for granted what I do.
I am a visual thinker. I’ve always had that creative side that wants to frame vignettes, stand back and admire the world. And nothing inspires me more than people.
People laughing, loving, sharing joy, and living life.
I enjoy shooting high school seniors; it is such a fun and hopeful time of life. Moms are crying and dads are beaming–you can just feel the love and pride. And once they get over that initial hesitation, each one enjoys the experience of being the center of attention and seeing themselves in a positive way through the eyes of someone else. When I feel that connection with my subject it shows in their eyes and in their portrait. It’s astounding and it chokes me up every time!
You only get professional portraits a few times in your life. I want to be the photographer who will enjoy you and make you feel great about yourself. I want you to look at your finished portrait and think it’s the best picture you’ve ever seen of yourself. I want mom to reach for the tissues when she sees your finished portrait.
These are the moments in a life when we celebrate.
I love people. I want to photograph them.
Let’s create something beautiful together
