Are you a mom who just wants to learn how to take better pictures of your kids?
You spent some money on a camera and sometimes it takes good pictures, but sometimes it doesn’t.![]()
Does that sound like you? Guess what–I can help. I can teach you what all of those buttons and wheels on your camera do; I can even show you how to take it up a notch and stretch yourself outside of the green box. I will teach you about something I found the most difficult to get my head around: the relationship between ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. Whoa.
Slow down, MIssy. That’s too much. No, it’s not–give me an hour with you and your camera at a nearby park. Bring the kids, we need models, right? They can play while we go over the basics.
Suddenly your snapping pictures and–whoa! look at that! you got the shot! Right on the money!
I’ll even give you a follow up tutorial on how to edit your photos using free software available online.
All of this personalized attention for only $99. Whee!
Oh I know, some of you are saying, Missy, why would you give away secrets? Why would you teach moms how to take pictures? Then they won’t need you! To that I say, nah, that’s simply not true. They will still want me to take the senior portrait; to take the big family portrait; to take the wedding portraits. Come on, Moms m
ay love taking pictures of their kids but they don’t want to deal with drunken bridal party. And there are just a few times in your life, really, when you want professional portraits. I will still be here for you then and you will trust me that much more now that we’ve worked together and you know all that goes into getting the right shot and turning it into a work of art.
So that’s the dealio. I’m introducing something new. Mom Photography 101: a personalized, one on one class to teach you how to take pictures of your kids. Or your dog? Or that flower over there. The cake you just baked. Things you love.
Now I know this may sound outrageous, but Mother’s Day is in just a few more days. Would your mom love it if you gave her a class like this? Contact me using the drop-down form in the menu above and I can email you a gift certificate to print up lickity split. As an enticement… if you order before midnight Saturday, May 12, 2012 you can take 20% off the price of this class. That’s right $79, not $99. For just a few days.
Hey! Settle down–you’ve got this! Then we all know who mom will love best.
Okay, you’re thinking, tell me more. After we set up a day, time and location to meet…
- Bring your camera.
- Bring your camera’s manual, if you have it. It will help you later know where to look up things we talked about. I also encourage you to bring a pen or pencil to write notes in the margins of your manual.
- You don’t have to bring models (ie, your kids, your dog) but you are certainly free to do so.
- We’ll get down to business quickly taking pictures and moving through your camera’s automatic settings, then I’ll show you how to venture into the creative zones.
- After you download your photos to your computer at home, we continue the lesson online as I guide you through how to make simple color corrections using common editing software that will take your photos to the next level.
That’s it. Now you’re capturing images at your kids events that you never thought you could get before. A few moments frozen in time. That’s all a mom really wants.
